I am married with no kids yet. My wife Zehra graduated from
OSU Early Childhood Education with a master degree and working
at a kindergarten.
I am a fan of gadgets. I have an MDA,
I use it as a GPS device as well through a SiRF
III Bluetooth GPS Receiver. It would be also cool to have
MSVC
on it too, but I don't have it yet.
I just bought a Toshiba
Gigabeat F20 and installed Rockbox
on it, for 90 bucks including shipping. It is the cheapest name-brand,
video playing (with Rockbox), Digital Audio Player in the market.
(These are also suggested items to buy.)
I recently bought a tablet PC as well. HP
Pavilion tx1000z. It is the lowest cost tablet PC
I could find. HP has an Academic
Purchase Program, so I got a student discount just before
I graduate. Too bad, it comes with a passive
digitizer touch screen, not an active
one, but I didn't care too much about the touch screen sensitivity
since I won't use it to write or draw much, I will use it to
access menus mostly, as a mouse... (or maybe
I am wrong... I can get a laptop with a Hybrid
digitizer next time.)

good at finding deals an advice friends. So some more suggestions
follows:

I am using Delta Sky-miles Platinum American Express. It has
a yearly fee, but gives you free companion tickets (i.e.
when I buy a ticket, my companion flies for free) and it certainly
saves more than the yearly fee. In addition, you can use it
when buying precious items (like laptops) and this card doubles
the warranty period.

You may choose the lesser card (gold) to platinum for lesser
yearly fee, but I wouldn't recommend it. (But maybe, you can
start with gold and next year upgrade it to platinum to get
additional sign-up bonus.)
